Haldane “Danny” Browne

Danny is a true pioneer in the Jamaican music scene; he was a member of the original Bloodfire Posse band as their star bass guitar and keyboard player. The group voiced “Rub A Dub Soldier", "Get Flat" and "Are You Ready” which became instant hits on the dancehall charts and garnered international success which resulted in a European tour in 1985. The Bloodfire Posse disbanded in 1993 and Danny began his own record label, Main Street Music and achieved superstar status as a producer and writer.

In the early 1990s Main Street was the hottest dancehall label with stars like General Degree, Buccaneer, Red Rat, Mr Vegas, Chrissy D and Hawkeye; Danny was the most sought after dancehall producer. In an unprecedented move in the late 1990s, Browne decided to only produce and voice gospel, thus producing a new genre of gospel reggae/dancehall acts including Prodigal and Goddy Goddy..
