Carlton Hines
|
Carlton’s love affair with music began at an early age; in 1972 he and two boyhood friends formed the group Tetrak. Tetrack experienced moderate success with such hits as, “Let’s get Started” and “Come a We”. Shortly after, the group parted company and Carlton, a tremendously talented writer who had written almost every song recorded by Tetrack, began writing as a career. He has since written for some of the biggest names in reggae; among his most known works are the monster hit “Rumours” for Gregory Isaacs as well as the classic “Deceiving Girl” for Dennis Brown, the stridently revolutionary “The Real Enemy” for The Diamonds and “Let off Sup’m” for Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs. The list of artists that Carlton has worked with includes: Dennis Brown, John Holt, Freddie Mcgregor, Tamlins, Gregory Issacs, J.C. Lodge, Mighty Diamonds |
